Sophia's Place is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to creating safe, accessible, supportive communities where adults with disabilities and military veterans can live with dignity, greater independence, security and a true sense of belonging.
A home is more than four walls.
It is stability. Safety. Independence. Community. And peace of mind.
For adults with disabilities, the future can become uncertain when parents, family members or longtime caregivers are no longer able to provide support.
For military veterans, the transition to civilian life can bring a different set of challenges, including housing instability, isolation and difficulty accessing coordinated long-term support.
Sophia's Place was created to help build a better future.
Our vision is to develop thoughtfully designed communities combining accessible housing with opportunities for wellness, connection, education, vocational development and meaningful community life.
We aren't simply building homes. We're building places where people can belong.

We envision communities where adults with disabilities can experience greater independence while remaining connected to the resources and people that help them thrive.
Accessible housing, community spaces, wellness resources and opportunities for personal development are brought together in an environment centered on dignity and choice.

Those who served our country deserve security, dignity, purpose and community when they return home.
Sophia's Place seeks to create supportive environments where veterans can build connections, access resources and pursue opportunities for continued personal and professional growth.

Thoughtfully designed, ADA-accessible homes intended to promote comfort, safety and greater independence.

Planned partnerships and resources focused on physical health, mental wellness, rehabilitation and long-term well-being.

Shared spaces, activities and programs designed to encourage friendships, reduce isolation and create genuine community.

Educational, vocational and employment-focused programs intended to help residents develop skills, confidence and opportunities for greater independence.
Imagine waking up in a home designed
with accessibility in mind.
Neighbors know one another.
There are places to gather, share meals, participate in activities, learn new skills and simply enjoy life.
Residents are not defined by disability, military service or the challenges they have experienced.
They are neighbors. They are friends. They are part of a community.
That is the future Sophia's Place is working to create.
Dignity. Independence. Security. Community. Purpose.

Inspired by One Life. Created to Change Thousands More.
Sophia's Place began with something deeply personal.
It was inspired by Sophia and by the love, resilience and spirit that define her life.
Her story raised a question that countless families eventually confront:
What happens to an adult with disabilities when the people who have always protected and cared for them can no longer do so?
Every family deserves a better answer to that question.
Sophia's Place was created from the belief that adults with disabilities deserve more than somewhere to stay. They deserve a home, meaningful relationships, opportunities, safety, respect and a community where they are valued.
That vision grew to include another community that has given so much: America's military veterans.
Sophia inspired the name.
The people we hope to serve inspire the mission.

Every meaningful project begins with people who believe it is possible.
Donations to Sophia's Place can help advance our mission to create accessible housing and supportive communities for adults with disabilities and military veterans.
Whether you give $25, $100, $1,000 or choose to become a major partner, your support moves this mission forward.
